An arrest has been made in Hamilton following two armed robberies that took place months apart at the same convenience store. According to investigators and a report on CP24, the suspect allegedly carried out one robbery in December 2025 and returned again in April 2026, this time reportedly using a weapon to threaten staff and steal goods. Police executed a search warrant at a residence in Hamilton’s east end, where evidence was recovered and the suspect was taken into custody. Authorities continue to investigate and are urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
If you have any information about these incidents, please contact Hamilton Police Service or your local police division. Even small details could assist investigators and help prevent further violent crimes.
Safety Notes:
- Install monitored alarm systems to deter robberies and trigger immediate response
- Equip all retail stores with panic buttons so staff can discreetly alert authorities during an emergency
- Use high-definition surveillance cameras to capture clear suspect footage, as video evidence will greatly assist the police in their pursuit of the burglar
- Train staff on robbery protocols, including how to respond during a hold-up
- Limit cash on hand and use secure safes or drop boxes
- Ensure proper lighting inside and outside your business
- Consider access control systems to restrict entry to sensitive areas
Armed robberies remain a serious threat to retail businesses, particularly smaller stores that may be targeted more than once. Proactive security measures can play a critical role in both deterring crime and assisting law enforcement in identifying suspects.
