Victorian semis and rowhouses, rear laneways, converted multi-unit homes and busy shopping streets: Roncesvalles and Parkdale need security that fits tight lots and shared walls. Knightwatch covers homes, landlords and storefronts across the west end.

Most streets here are backed by laneways lined with garages and fences, so the back of a house is often more exposed than the front. We put contacts on rear doors and garage doors, motion coverage on the back of the house, and a camera facing the laneway to record anyone coming and going. Bikes and tools kept in a laneway garage can be protected on their own zone.
Shared walls mean detectors have to be placed so they react to your home, not your neighbour's. Many houses are also split into a main unit with a basement or upper apartment. With partitions, each unit arms and disarms on its own code, and landlords can keep smoke and CO detection monitored for every tenant. If a previous owner left a system behind, an alarm takeover usually reuses it.
Main-street businesses need after-hours monitoring, glass-break detection on big front windows, panic buttons for staff and cameras on the till, entrance and rear lane. See commercial alarm installation for the full picture.
