Toronto Break-In: Man Wanted in Connection with Multiple Residential Burglaries

By Knightwatch Alarms ·

Toronto police are searching for a 59-year-old suspect that is connected to a series of break-ins across the city. Investigators allege the incidents took place between mid-January and mid-April, involving at least five separate occurrences. CityNews reports the suspect broke into storage lockers and residential units, in some cases entering homes while occupants were asleep and stealing personal belongings and valuables. He now faces numerous charges, including multiple counts of break and enter, possession of break-in tools, and theft. Police continue to urge the public to come forward with any information.

If you have any information about these incidents, please contact Toronto Police Service or your local police division. Even the smallest detail could help investigators locate the suspect and prevent further break-ins.

Safety Notes:

  • Always ensure doors, windows, and storage areas are securely locked
  • Install a monitored alarm system to deter intruders and enable rapid response, and make sure the alarm is armed when you are away and at night
  • Use surveillance cameras to capture activity around entry points
  • Avoid leaving valuables in easily accessible areas or storage lockers
  • Be aware of unfamiliar individuals in your building or neighbourhood
  • Report suspicious activity to police immediately

Break-ins like these are a stark reminder that both residential and multi-unit buildings remain targets for opportunistic crime. Taking proactive security measures can significantly reduce your risk and help protect your property and peace of mind.

It's important to note that homes with monitored home alarm systems are 5 times less likely to have a break-in than those without. This is why police departments across North America recommend homeowners install and continuously use a monitored alarm system.
